Blackboard and Turnitin Update

Blackboard will be unavailable from 5.30am on Saturday 17th June 2017, until 9 am on Sunday 18 June 2017 to allow for an upgrade.

The upgrade will allow Ulster staff and students to take advantage of new features, and also addresses normal bug fixes.

Further detailed information is available in the Blackboard Q2 2016 release notes. Ulster will also benefit from new features in the 2015 Q4 version of the software.

Some specific benefits and highlights for users are:

  • Availability of Blackboard Collaborate Ultra
  • Upgrade to Turnitin Feedback Studio
  • New Grades Journey functionality to provide a framework to develop integrations between Blackboard and the Student Records System.
  • A new responsive mobile theme for a better experience on mobile and tablet devices.
  • Improved accessibility functionality for a more inclusive and accessible experience for all students.
