St Columb's College
We would like a student with a strong Mathematical background as demonstrated by their A-Level Mathematics grade. The student should have keen interest in Mathematics and have the skills to explain concepts and discuss question and answering techniques. The student will need to have good communication skills and have the ability to work with small groups of students.
The pupils will have developed their understanding of topics from their course and have the ability to interpret and answer examination style questions. They should be able to achieve higher grades in their standardised tests and gain better results in their external examinations.
The student will have developed their communication and organisation skills through sharing their mathematical knowledge with the pupils. Their mathematical knowledge will be refreshed and deepen through preparation for the work with the pupils. They will be able to demonstrate their ability to work well with others.
This support will be in small group basis. Students will make use of their study periods to get support for areas of their Mathematics course that they find difficult. They will also spend time interpreting examinations style questions and developing examination techniques to help answer these.
