Student Skills

Ideally student should have a strong interest in the teaching and learning of maths, be competent in using and understanding maths and enjoy working with children.

Expected Pupil Outcomes

Primarily pupils will grow in confidence in using and applying maths across the curriculum. Children will develop improved strategies in using and applying maths to problem solving situations and improve quick recall of facts and procedures.

Expected Student Tutor Outcomes

Student tutor will gain an insight into how children think mathematically and how this thinking can be improved upon. Student tutor will see the benefits of setting individual targets for children and observing how these can be achieved during their time in school.

Extra Information

Student will work with groups of children who are underachieving in numeracy across Key Stage 2 using a variety of teaching approaches.
