Student Skills

Students with a strong background in a literary. A university student who is interested in helping children gain success at GCSE English.

Expected Pupil Outcomes

Pupils will improve their Literacy skills. Those with reading difficulties or a lack of confidence in their reading ability will be given the opportunity to improve their confidence and reading age through small group guided reading activities and 1 to 1 sessions with the student tutors.

Expected Student Tutor Outcomes

They will have the opportunity to share their knowledge / skills with pupils in a classroom environment. They will gain experience of working in secondary sector education with children working at GCSE level. It will be a valuable experience for potential teachers in interacting with other teachers and with pupils. They will gain knowledge and experience of preparing resources for individual pupils

Extra Information

Students would withdraw small groups of pupils in Year 12 to work with them on their Literacy skills, Past paper question practice, examination technique etc

The programme is open to all Ulster students who wish to enhance their student experience and strengthen their skillsets.
